HALLMARK’S The Way Home stars have opened up about the show’s shocking Season 1 finale.

Chyler Leigh, Sadie Laflamme-Snow, and Evan Williams appeared at New York Comic Con over the weekend to explain the big ending scene, as well as to preview what’s to come in Season 2.

*Spoilers ahead*

The show follows “three generations of women [as they] embark on an enlightening journey to find their way back to each other and learn important lessons about their family’s past,” according to the synopsis.

Not a straight drama, The Way Home also features fantasy elements, including time travel, which made New York Comic Con the perfect place to have a panel.

On Sunday, stars Chyler (plays Kat), Sadie (plays Kat's daughter, Alice), and Evan (plays Elliot) appeared at the annual event to answer questions about their new Hallmark series.

In the final moments of Season 1, Kat Landry (played by Chyler) realized what had likely happened to her missing brother, Jacob – that he'd followed the dog into the time-traveling pond.

Fans then got another snippet of the 1814 time period that was first teased in the show's premiere, but this time it was revealed the witch being chased was none other than Kat.

As the finale answered some questions while raising others, some of the cast was on hand at NYCC to give a few more details about what's to come in Season 2, as The US Sun captured on video, above.

Chyler was asked by the panel's moderator, People’s Breanne L. Heldman, to dish on bringing Season 1 full circle with the witchy moment at the end relating to the opening scene from the show’s premiere.

The actress shared: “It’s funny because I didn’t even really know why I was a witch! We learned a lot of things, story-wise, down the road.

“So, that being the case, it was still kind of like, mysterious mysteries. But it was fun.

“I got that long hair, the wig. It was so ethereal and haunting and dark, and I didn’t even really know why. And it’s funny because Kat didn’t even really know why.”

She explained that fans will find out a lot more in the upcoming episodes, revealing: “It’s part of an origin story that we will come to learn and understand in Season 2.

“But it’s incredibly significant being able to be in that world. That part of the time travel gave us an amazing opportunity to create a whole other timeline.”

All of the stars were then asked to tease what else is to come in the next season, which arrives in 2024, using only three words.

Chyler’s eyes opened wide as she insisted: “S**t gets real.”

Evan cryptically teased that there will be “answers, more questions,” while Sadie simply said: “Oh my God.”

Launching on Hallmark in mid-January, the show was renewed in March, less than two months after its premiere.
