Sara Khan (2010-2011) – In 2010, he got married to model and actor Sara Khan in an Islamic wedding ceremony at Bigg Boss 4. It was claimed that the couple was paid ₹5 million (US$66,000) by the Colors channel for the marriage and it was reported that it was just a publicity stunt. However, Colors denied all such claims and stated that it was the couple’s own wish to get married. The marriage soon turned out to be a disaster and Ali Merchant and Sara Khan divorced after 2 months in 2011. She later described the marriage as a nightmare while Merchant revealed in an episode of the reality show Sach Ka Saamna that he had married her for publicity, stating that marrying Khan was the biggest mistake of his life.
